Neighborhood Watch Committee Meeting June 7

Meeting Date and Time: June 7, 2010 - 7:00 pm

Present:  Jeff Smith, Ram Kuppuswami, Shawn Huycke, Sudhindra Chillarige, Cameron Smith, Steve Schoenly, Bill McMullen and John Maier
Also attending:  Nicole Pilkus, Deanna McFarland

1. Call to Order 7:02 pm by Vice Chair Jeff Smith.

2. No electronic recording of the meeting

3. Resident Comment Period – None

4. LCSO Reports – Committee reviewed current crime report.
a. Discussion concerning neighborhood graffiti and the urgency to report it, so that the issue doesn’t get out of hand.

5. Approval of May 2010 Minutes as amended - motion entered by Shawn Huycke and seconded by Ram Kuppuswami. 

6. Membership
a.Current Voting Members: 11
b.Current Number of Patrollers: 32

7. Patroller issues
a.There is a new schedule, which Jeff will send out soon.

8. Board Report
a.Nicole reported on a request by the Board for help by the NW committee and patrollers for the High School End of the School Year Party at the Murrey Drive Gazebo area.

9. South Riding Magazine Update
a.The NNO information needs to be sent to Lisa Pitarque for the August issue.

10. NNO 2010
a.Committee to begin process of sending out letters for NNO.
b.Committee reviewed the NNO task list.
c.Discussed asking the Business Watch group for help with NNO.
d.Committee requested that Staff insure the Town Green sprinklers be turned off the evening of NNO.

11.  Block Captain Committee Meeting
a.Steve reported to committee that he asked the BC committee for help with NNO by attending the event and spreading the word about the event.
